Coming next... Toubkal View Toubkal in a larger map In late January 2012 we shall be attempting to climb Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains, Morocco. Whilst website updates are underway, more information can be found here. On the 7th September 2010 a group of adventurers set off on an attempt to scale Mount Kilimanjaro, raising money for the Limbless Association by challenging themselves against the forces of nature. The group was comprised of amputees, prosthetists, physios and others willing to test their physical and mental endurance on Tanzania's equatorial volcano. All participants deserve praise for attempting a challenge of this magnitude but particular congratulations should be bestowed on those that successfully reached the 5,895m summit.
Successful summiteers (left to right): Back row: Paul, Julie, Big Al, Andy, Andrew, Michelle, Tom Front row: Albert, Babs, Faye, Maggie, Laura (and Beano), Chris, Mark, Helen, Doc Not pictured: Roy Kilimanjaro: a conquered mountain!
Please browse this website to find out more information about the team and the challenges they faced (updates still on-going!). |
