Funds raised by the Kilimanjaro challenge will help the Limbless Association provide:

Professional and Specialist Amputee Counselling Service
A new service offering a dedicated and qualified counsellor who will specialise in all of the issues people face as a result of amputation.

Dedicated Complaints and Advocacy Service
A dedicated service offering advocacy, support and advice to people who are unhappy with the medical treatment they are receiving or have a complaint about their service / hospital / rehabilitation team.

Parliamentary and Campaigns Department
Form a new department dedicated to campaigning for improved services, facilities, legislation and local & national policies for people with limb loss.

LA Handbook and Educational DVD
Produce and distribute a national handbook and accompanying educational DVD for the benefit of every new amputee in the UK, offering information, advice and support on all of the main topics people are concerned about after amputation.

Sports & Fitness Department
Purchase a minibus for our existing sports teams and create and promote a new sports and fitness department, encouraging and assisting amputees to get back into sports and keeping fit to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This will also include the purchase of specialist gym equipment for people with disabilities.

Education, Training, Sponsorships and Scholarships
Provide additional support, grants and scholarships to young trainees entering the amputee healthcare profession and encourage, sponsor and support courses in amputation surgery. Provide education and training programs for amputees wishing to get back to work.

Limb Loss User Group Network
Provide a national "voice" / hub for all of the regional patient groups and organise an annual User Group Conference to promote best-practice and improve dialogue between different regions.

Research & Development
Provide funding for research & development into new techniques and new designs for prosthetic limbs and limb treatment and services. Establish and promote best-practices for the industry and collaborate on a national framework for a full and fair service throughout the UK. Close the gap in the "postcode lottery".
